GoodSearch, launched in 2005 is a search engine which donates 50-percent of its revenue to non-profit organizations designated by searching users. The dollars that are awarded to participating organizations come from its advertisers only-not those that use it for searching so it does not cost anything to use the service.
In 2007, GoodSearch was expanded to include GoodShop, an online shopping mall of retailers dedicated to helping fund worthy causes across the country. Each purchase made via the GoodShop mall results in a donation to the user's designated charity or school - averaging approximately 3% of the sale, but going up to 20% or even more.
By designating the Humane Society of Livingston County as your organization of choice, everytime you use Goodsearch as you search the Internet, money goes to the Humane Society. All you have to do is open up the Goodsearch web site, www.goodsearch.com, designate the Humane Society of Livingston County as the charity you would like to support, and then surf the net like you would with any other search engine. The site is powered by Yahoo, so you'll get the same quality search results that you're used to.The more people who use this site, the more money that will go to the animals in need.
