Adopt a Pet How You Can Help Programs & Services |
Your Donations Make a Difference! The Humane Society of Livingston County is a private, non-profit 501(c) 3 organization which means all donations are tax deductible. We do not receive government funding and are not affiliated with any other animal shelter or humane society for financial support. We rely on the generosity of people like you to continue our mission to support the responsible care of every animal in our community. Donations help provide the essentials for our day-to-day operations as well as required medical procedures and veterinary care. By making a donation, you are helping to keep the animals in our care warm, safe and well as we work to find them a loving home. Every donation, no matter the size, is greatly appreciated!

There are many ways to give that could also offer financial benefits including tax reduction or even lifetime income from a gift. For example, you can name the Humane Society of Livingston County in your estate when planning your will or trust. You can donate or transfer ownership of stocks, bonds, or other assets to HSLC. You could make an investment like a Charitable Gift Annuity or designate HSLC as the beneficiary for a life insurance policy. Please consult with your financial advisor for the methods of giving that are most appropriate for you. No matter what you decide, we are very grateful you have considered doing something special for the Humane Society of Livingston County. Remember, no gift is "too small" -- even a modest investment or contribution can provide a steady income to pay for daily operations or special projects. If you have questions about finding ways to help our animals in need, please contact Barb Benford by phone: 517-552-8050, ext. 12 or email: barb@humane-livingston.org. You can have a brick specially engraved and placed permanently in our garden or pathway area. The bricks are offered in two sizes: The 4" x 8" brick has space for one or two lines of engraving. The 8" x 8" brick will allow up to 5 lines for your personal message. For a more customized option, you can create an elegant 8 x 8 ceramic tile with your own design or camera-ready art to be installed in the reception area of our shelter. Proceeds from the sale of these bricks and tiles will be used to support the HSLC building fund. For current pricing and more information, contact us. Memorials & Honorariums Monetary gifts can be made in any amount and designated "In Honor Of" or "In Memory Of" a beloved pet or special person.
