Hi, I'm Bianca. I'm a Short Hair Pointer mix. My first owner gave me up because he couldn't afford to care for me any longer. I was then adopted by a family who had me for about 3 months, but then had to return me because their daughter had asthma and I was allergic to something in their home. I'm sad to be back, but know that someone will see what a GREAT GIRL I am and I'll be adopted again soon!

I'm only about 1 1/2 years old so I'm still YOUNG and FUN! I am COMPLETELY HOUSE TRAINED and did well on my temperament test. I LOVE PEOPLE and do fine with kids although I do not like being around other animals. One of my favorite things to do is to PLAY FETCH. I'm a runner so will need a fenced yard or other secure form of containment when outdoors. I also know some commands and ENJOY going for leashed WALKS. I know my next home will be my FOREVER HOME!

My name is Amos! I'm a 3 year old Coonhound that was picked up by a DNR officer on some state land. It's quite likely that whoever owned me just abandoned me there. It happens more than you know especially for hunting breeds like me. I'm a bit underweight at 51 pounds. I may be house trained, but it's hard for the staff to determine that sometimes in a shelter environment. My new family should be prepared to work on that with me just in case.

Because of my breed, I should have a fenced yard to keep me from wandering. I LOVE PEOPLE, but haven't had much obedience training and need to learn some basic social manners. I will require some EXTRA EFFORT at first, but am eager to please and easy to train with food! If you're looking for a RUNNING PARTNER, CAMPING BUDDY, or a companion who would be happy just to go for a ride in the country with you... look no further!

I'm a super friendly, active Mountain Cur mix ready for fun and adventure!

Hi there! My name is Musket! I'm a 3 year old mixed breed dog, likely a Mountain Cur mix, with short brindle and black fur which gives me a very unique look. I am too skinny right now at 31 pounds, probably because I am such an ACTIVE guy who loves to sniff and run! I'm VERY FRIENDLY and SMART, so I LEARN QUICKLY. I like stuffed animals, toys and chewing on dog bones to keep busy. Because I'm a RUNNER I need to have a fenced yard and a home that knows how to keep me contained because I will bolt out open doors. I am used to being crated, am HOUSE TRAINED, and KNOW BASIC COMMANDS, so most of the work has been done if you just teach me the rules in your home!

My previous owner rescued me from being euthanized, but was only able to keep me a few weeks because they had a larger male dog and we didn't quite see eye-to-eye (probably because we weren't neutered). But, I can likely get along fine now with some other dogs and maybe even cats. There were also children as young as 3 years old in my last home and I was very friendly with them.

I know a whole bunch of really COOL TRICKS that I love to do for people when they visit. Sometimes when people walk by my kennel at the shelter, I get a little protective and bark a bit too much. But, when given the chance out of my kennel, you would see what a LOVING girl I really am. I could be a VERY LOYAL and fun-loving companion with someone who understands my breed. I really don't want to live with other animals or small children so an adult home, experienced with my breed is best for me. A PURR-fectly nice kitty anxious to find a forever home!

I'm Carmen! I am a LOVELY short-haired female who was born around 3/2010. I was turned in as a stray and never claimed by anyone. Hard to believe because I am SUCH a NICE GIRL who LIKES ATTENTION. The staff does not know my history, but I do seem to GET ALONG WELL with other CATS here at the shelter. They don't know how I would be with children, so interested adopters should keep that in mind.

Don't know why I was abandoned, but I'm ready to go home!

My name is Kookie. I was born around 1/2010. I was abandoned at the shelter with another cat, so the staff does not know anything about my former home life. Since I've been at the shelter, I've adapted quite well and seem to GET ALONG with other CATS and even some of the DOGS. I'm VERY PLAYFUL and would probably be ok with kids who treat me well.

can you help me find a good home?

I am an adult, female cat named Devon born around 2/2010. I was abandoned with many other cats of different ages who were infected with fleas and severe ear mites. Thankfully, we were able to receive the treatments needed here at the humane society to fully recover from all that and hope for a better life!

I have been a GOOD GIRL here at the shelter and have been FRIENDLY with many of the OTHER CATS and even some gentle DOGS. I know I could be very HAPPY in a REAL HOME with a FAMILY to LOVE me... don't you think I deserve that chance?

I'm Rosemary, a short-haired brown tiger with pretty white markings estimated to have been born in 2009. I'm a VERY SWEET girl who really LIKES ATTENTION and LOVES to be PETTED so it is hard to understand why I was left abandoned at the shelter after-hours. Hello, my name is Giselle. Quite a fancy name for a stray cat, but it seems to suit me. I'm a very ATTRACTIVE, SWEET GIRL who was born around 10/2009. Like so many strays that come to the shelter, I was never claimed by anyone so the staff doesn't know anything about my past. But, since I've been here, I've been a GOOD GIRL and get along pretty well with other cats.

I don't have any specific requests, but I sure would like a chance to find a good home where I will be loved and kept safe indoors. Let's spend some time together and plan our future!

I am a HANDSOME, black cat with SOFT GREEN eyes named, yep, you guessed it, Blackie. I was born around 2004 and adopted from the shelter a while ago, but then recently showed up at an animal control facility as a stray. My owner never claimed me and, because I was micro chipped, luckily I was returned to the humane society to take care of me again.

I am WELL BEHAVED here at the shelter, but may need some time to learn the rules in my new home and MAY DO BEST where I am the ONLY PET. I am a FRIENDLY, ACTIVE cat who is anxious to be adopted again and DESERVES ANOTHER CHANCE for a good home. This time I hope it will be FURR-ever!

My name is Angel. I'm a short-haired, SWEET white cat that was born around 2005. I'm a CALM, QUIET and sometimes SHY GIRL that would be happiest in a quiet home. In fact, I'd make an IDEAL LAP-CAT for a SENIOR home. Black Jack is looking for his lucky break!

They call me Black Jack and I am quite an interesting fellow. I am a very cool, sleek, male cat with Bombay characteristics born around May 2009. I have been living at the Humane Society most of my life so the staff knows me well and has a good idea of the best type of home for me. I am VERY FRIENDLY, PLAYFUL, and can be full of MISCHIEF which can be quite ENTERTAINING! I have a very DOMINANT, ACTIVE personality so I find lots of ways to AMUSE myself. I do not really like to be picked up or held so would not interact well with small kids, but would be happy in a home with a young, tolerant CAT or DOG who would learn to play my games. In fact, I have been REALLY GENTLE and LOVING with the KITTENS here at the shelter, so it would be REALLY GREAT if you could ADOPT ME along with a new KITTEN to PLAY with. how FUN would that be? I am having a tough time being in a cage at the shelter and hoping the right person will read this and give me the lucky break I deserve for a forever home!

Why is this great little guy still homeless?

Hi, my name is Mickey! I'm a young, handsome, REALLY NICE boy who has been waiting patiently and, apparently, too quietly at the shelter for a new home for much too long! Well, I'm going to speak up now and tell you all what a GREAT PET I would be in ALMOST ANY TYPE OF HOME! I was born in May 2007, lovingly hand-raised, and then adopted as a kitten. But, then I was given away for some reason and ended up at another Humane Society until I was eventually returned to the HSLC to help me find a home again. I'm a VERY FRIENDLY, PLAYFUL guy who really LIKES to be around PEOPLE and is VERY TOLERANT WITH KIDS. I get along GREAT WITH MOST other CATS here at the shelter, so I would fit in nicely at home with other cats to play with! I can also be very content to SIT ON YOUR LAP and listen as you tell me about your day. I am a very WELL BEHAVED cat when it comes to using my litter box and using a good scratching post.

So, you must be asking the same question by now. why am I homeless? Please take me home forever!

My name is Buie. I was born in 2007 and originally adopted from the shelter, but then returned because I didn't get along with the family dog. Too bad that was a requirement, because I'm a SUPER NICE CAT! I am VERY FRIENDLY, AFFECTIONATE, and LIKE TO CUDDLE and be brushed. I have shared a room with other cats here at the shelter where I do fine on a short term basis, but then get a little too dominant, so may do best if I am the ONLY PET or at least given a good amount of time to adjust in my next home. I lived with a teenager in my last home, but not sure how I would get along with younger children. One of my ears is a little deformed from an old infection, but it doesn't bother me at all, and in fact, many people think it makes me even MORE ADORABLE and UNIQUE! I can't argue with that! Please take me home!
