Fur Ball event
at Crystal Gardens
Saturday, March 24th
Use this Registration Form to reserve a seat for you and your friends to enjoy a great evening of dinner, drinks, dancing, and fun to help our homeless pets! Doors open at 5:30. Tickets are $80 per person, $150 per couple or $700 for a table of ten. Tickets are partially tax-deductible. This is truly a special event for us... we hope you'll join us!
If you are also interested in helping, we currently need donated items or services from businesses for our very popular raffles and auction. Contact Barb Benford at the shelter for any questions and see all the fun from last year's Fur Ball Event on our web site. |

Special thanks to Sue Tompkins who organized the HSLC exhibit for the 2011 Pet Expo in Novi November 18-20th! This was a great opportunity to showcase some of our adoptable pets, create more awareness for our services, and share fun and stories with many pet loving people!

We hope you were able to enjoy a lunch, dinner, or moonlight cruise aboard the Grand Princess on beautiful Thompson Lake during the Howell Melon Festival August 18 - 21st, 2011. Thank you to Captain John and his crew for providing these relaxing, summertime cruises to benefit both the HSLC and the Howell Melon Festival.

In addition to our normal adoption hours at the HSLC shelter, we also feature some of our pets available for adoption at other nearby locations. An HSLC staff member is typically available to qualify potential adoptions at each site so you can take your new pet home with you!

Ongoing Adoption Special - No Fee for "Senior Cats for Senior People"
In recognition for how much our pets can enrich the joy and quality of life, especially in our senior years, HSLC has established an ongoing program to waive the adoption fee for any senior cat for any senior person (62 years of age or older). Adoption specials are limited to one per household and must be approved. Stop by during shelter hours to find a new companion to share your home and warm your heart!

The minimum age for children is 8 years old. Children under the age of 14 must be under the supervision of a parent. Junior volunteers 14 -17 years of age are able to volunteer without a parent. Volunteer opportunities are available in many different areas of the shelter as well as helping with building maintenance, fundraisers, graphic design and many more!
WHMI Radio (93.5 FM) Pet Patrol 
WHMI Radio (93.5 FM) supports the HSLC with a weekly program, Pet Patrol to spotlight our adoptable pets, pet care tips, fundraising events, and more. Pet Patrol is part of the WHMI Viewpoint program broadcast on Sunday mornings at 8:30 am. You can replay recent Viewpoint programs on the WHMI web site. Learn More>>
