We all look forward to our "Golden Years" when we can be secure and enjoy life. For cats and dogs age 8 years or older, we give them "Senior Status" on our list of adoptable pets. These are mature, healthy, loving pets with plenty of LIFE to live and LOVE to give. Take time to meet our Senior Dogs>> or Senior Cats>>

We also give our Senior Cats and Dogs a break with reduced adoption fees. In fact, Senior Cats are ALWAYS FREE to Senior People (over age 62). Refer to our Adoption Policies and Price List for details.

Hi my name is Buddy. I'm a senior Black Lab mix who was transferred from a high-kill shelter up north. I was turned in there as a stray although my owner was identified. I guess she no longer wanted me and never came. It's probably for the best since I'd been neglected for some time. I'm coming along well now, but still have some spots where I'm missing fur and I'm a bit thin. But, I am such a HAPPY dog despite not having the best treatment.

I'm SO EXCITED with HOPE now to find a home that will REALLY LOVE ME and spoil me like the staff says I deserve. I sometimes bark a lot here at the shelter, but it's because I'm out of my element. I'd be so much happier in a home that's quieter than here. I may prefer to be the only dog in a home, but may do okay with another older dog like myself.

Hi, I'm Tulsa. I'm really not sure why, but I was left with a note by my owner. I am a female Whippett / mix who LOVES PEOPLE and likes to check out how comfortable their laps are for sitting! I'm considered to be a SENIOR dog now and somewhat LAID BACK, but do enjoy occasional PLAYTIME. I know BASIC COMMANDS and should have containment when outdoors or I may run. I think I would make a GREAT COMPANION for an active senior person, don't you?

I prefer NO OTHER DOGS in my home and my ideal home will be with someone who's home more than not. I may have accidents if left alone for too long, but can be crated if necessary.I also would prefer not to have to share my home with cats. It's just that I desire so much to be with my person that I don't want to share the attention!

Qtip and Missy

Hello. We are two senior cats that are a PURR-FECT PAIR! We were surrendered after our elderly owner passed way. As you can imagine this is a very difficult time for us and that's why we need to be adopted TOGETHER. We find comfort and security in having each other around. We are BOTH DECLAWED and QUIET sort of cats. We would prefer a quiet home with no kids and no dogs. We've always used the litter box and don't require a lot of upkeep.

Q-tip is a neutered male, gray and white short hair; Missy is a spayed female brown tiger. They are adorable TOGETHER and would add INSTANT COZI-NESS to your home!

I was born around 6/2004 and lived peacefully with my family until they got a new dog. Then, sadly, because I didn't adjust to the dog, I find myself looking for a new home. My name is Opie! I was born around 2003 and lived with my family for 9 years before they moved and left me. I'm scared to start over with someone new because they may not understand that I'm SHY at first. I just need some time to get comfortable, but then I'm a PLAYFUL and SWEET gentleman.

Hello. I'm Johnny Cash. Maybe I was given this cool name because I was found as a stray and seem to have a few life stories to tell. Most people think I'm a handsome black cat, but if you take a closer look, I look remarkably like a (brown) Havana. I am estimated to have been born around 2003 and was neutered prior to coming here, so at one time someone cared enough to do that for me. I am CURIOUS and DO LIKE ATTENTION, but prefer a little independence and do not like to be held too long. I get along pretty well with everyone here, but may need a little extra time to get comfortable with my new home and family.
