- Spay or
neuter your pet.

friends, neighbors and family members about spaying or
neutering their pets.
- Keep an
identification tag on your pet, and get your friends
to keep ID tags on their pets.
- Adopt a pet
from the HSLC or the local animal shelter.
- Save the
change from your pockets and donate it to the HSLC.
- Eliminate dog
bites--ask before you or your child pets an unknown
animal.
- Hold a
neighborhood sale and donate part of your proceeds to
the HSLC.
- Buy a bag of
puppy food or a toy and donate it to the HSLC.
- Don't let
your pet ride loose in the back of a pickup truck.
- Contact your
local, state and federal representatives about animal
issues.
- Educate your
children about proper pet care.
- Leave wild
animals in the wild.
- Designate the
HSLC as the recipient of your United Way donation.
- Become a
member of the HSLC.
- Buy us a roll
of stamps.
- Take pictures
of your pets to be used if they ever get lost.
- Donate your
pop can money to the HSLC.
- Bring us your
old blankets.
- Treat animals
the way you would want to be treated if you were them.
- Never leave
your pet in a car on a hot day.
- Always have
your dog on a leash.
- Don't take
your local humane society for granted.
- Clean up your
antifreeze puddles--it's poison.
- Call your
local Animal Control Department if you see a case of
animal cruelty or neglect.
- Stop if you
see an animal hit by a car.
- Keep your
pets up to date on their vaccinations.
- Take a moment
to care about pet overpopulation.
- Put us in
your will.
- Visit our
adoption center.
- Give your
pets a hug and tell them you love them--ASAP!!
